||LEAN - VEJEN TIL SUCCES?

||This project has been written as a part of a Master Thesis study at the Technical University of Denmark in the Department of Manufacturing Engineering and Management. The project is worked out for and in cooperation with Post Danmark A/S, which is a mail service company. The company has its headquarters in Copenhagen and has different departments in Denmark. The primary focus of the project is the department in Copenhagen.
Post Danmark wishes to implement Lean at the operational level through focus on Kaizen in planning and the daily work.
To start with, the project group has worked out a theoretic part about Lean in general furthermore Kaizen which is the part of Lean, had also been focused on. The project group has also described how Toyota uses Lean. In the last part of the project the project group has worked out strategic analyses of Post Danmark to find their requirements and demands.
At the same time the project group has talked with and interviewed workers in Post Danmark to find their requirements and demands under the implementation of Lean. These requirements and demands are estimated and possible improvements are discussed in the project and will possibly be implemented later on. The wish from Post Danmark is to improve Kaizen week which is a week were workers in Post Danmark learn how Lean is to be used in their daily work.
The project group has taken part at the Kaizen week, where the different tools and methods which Post Danmark uses to teach their workers how to use the advantages of Lean in the daily work, has been observed. On the basis of these observations the project group has worked out a number of different future tools, which Post Danmark can make use of.
Through focus on the human aspect the project group has estimated and evaluated the current Kaizen week as preparation for development and improvement for upcoming Kaizen week.
As a final aspect the opportunities to establish a benchmarking cooperation between Post Danmark and leading Lean companies in Denmark have been examined. Parallel with the fundamental analysis, human aspects have been studied and a determination of what to take into consideration when carrying out the changes has been concluded in the project.
