Abstract The determination of sound insulation can be based on sound pressure measurements and sound intensity measurements. The purpose of this thesis is to carry out a comparison between these two methods and draw some conclusions about the advantages and the disadvantages of each method. This thesis is also focused on a study of the application or not of the Waterhouse correction in the source room. The results of the sound reduction index at low frequency can be overestimated or underestimated depending on the application or not of this correction in the room. Also, it is interesting to observe the different results given about the sound insulation when the volume of the source room changes and for these experimental measurements in a real reverberation room and in a scale model reverberant room has been done, changing the volume, which is the only parameter is able to change.
