Abstract The report describes the basic design concepts for the PLC controlled motion systems. This is done through the building a model of an automated warehouse. The main goal was not to introduce a scalable solution for the industrial use but to build the system that would serve educational purposes. The work includes a wide range of problems starting with mechanical design, integrating the electrical design as well as introducing the concepts of the software design for the PLC motion control.
