Abstract There are many di®erent types of ADC structures, one of these is the Pipelined ADC, which is characterised by having relative high speed, with a low area- and power consump- tion. The purpose of this project is to design a 10-bit 40 Msample/s Pipelined ADC down to gate and transistor level. The CAD tool Cadence is used to validate the design by simulation. This paper contains a short theoretical section, an analysis of the pipeline structure and of the individual components. With implementation and simulation of the essential compo- nents. It should be possible, with some additional work, to construct a fully simulateable pipelined ADC. The paper therefore contains proposals to further analysis and development of the design.
