||This paper has been written as documentation for the DTUsat-2 visualization
project. The purpose of the project is to create an application that allows the
user to get familiar with and understand the DTUsat-2 mission. This is done
with computer graphics using OpenGL to create an interactive animation of the
satellite and its mission.
The application's expected use is for public relations only, and will have no use
in connection to the actual mission. Thus the focus of the project is twofold.
One goal is to make the mission and the ideas behind it clear to the user, both
with respect to the mission goal and how it is achieved. The other is to make
the visualization as "pretty" as possible, while still maintaining the ability to
run in real time.
The paper itself servers two purposes. First it explains the choices taken with
regard to both the development in general and the more specic choices taken
for the individual features. Secondly it explains how the implementation of the
chosen features is carried out in practice, using Java and OpenGL.
