Abstract This project is divided into three phases, and is an empirical study of Greenhouse Gas accounting and emission‐reductions within the consulting company Rambøll. The first phase concerns the Greenhouse Gas Accounting, using the Greenhouse Gas Protocol as a guideline. Results and uncertainties are thereby discussed, and Key Performance Indicators are made for comparison of the different offices. Procedures for retrieval of data are made and described so the process can easily be repeated the years to come. Phase 2 of the project deals with how the company can reduce their emissions and different measures are proposed within electricity, heat and transport. The reduction potentials are calculated, and a prioritized list based on three criteria is made with suggestions for the first measures to implement. How to practically implement the changes and how to create a management system solemnly for climate‐purposes is discussed. Change management, how to reach a certain state of the company in terms of Greenhouse Gas reductions is also dealt with. Phase 3 of the project looks at one particular office, where the consumption of energy and hence the emissions of CO2 were found to be especially high. Reduction measures specific for this office are proposed, and a theoretical reduction potential is calculated.
