Abstract This project centers around analyzing, designing and implementing an Information Kiosk. The Information Kiosk is meant to be a tool for sharing information within DTU Informatics. The goal is to create an alternative to the reception desk, which could help lessen the workload put on the receptionists. The process begins with a thorough modelling of the department; the users, the information and the everyday life. Both the reception desk and the department as a whole is examined. The further work will be to create an information platform that suits the modelled situation. The work is based on a previous project, where the first version of the application was created. This project will refine and add to the original solution. The final product is a server based application. Terminal screens can be put up around DTU Informatics, and these terminals will be where the users access the information. A number of useful functionality is created to suit the users. The system is able to integrate with several data sources, as well as allows the employees to provide information as they see fit. The application is usable for the everyday user, but also scalable such that more terminals and additional functionality can be added in the future. The first terminal screen is to be placed at the main entrance of building 322.
