Abstract The Common Criteria (CC) is an international recognized standard used for certification of secure IT products. CC can be used as the base for a design methodology which involves creation of a Protection Profile (PP) that gives an abstract description of a product type and Security Target (ST) that gives a more concrete description of a product within that category. Both the PP and the ST must follow a specific structure defined by the CC and the content must follow certain rules. This makes creation of PP and ST a demanding task which could benefit from computer-based assistance. This thesis describes how the prototype for a Common Criteria Design Toolbox was developed. The Design Toolbox is capable of providing assistance in development of a PP and deriving an ST from it. The Design Toolbox enables multiple users to contribute in the development and it helps assuring that the PP/ST are well-formed. The Design Toolbox have been developed with security in consideration i.e. all the data are store securely.
