Abstract The purpose of this project is to generate sustainable concepts for proper means of medical transportation and a supporting organizational structure for the rural residents of Sunderbans in India. The concepts are generated with respect to the social, environmental, technological and economical context in Sunderbans, with the focus of making it sustainable. The conditions of Sunderbans were subject to preliminary research prior to traveling to Sunderbans in India to explore the contextual conditions. The report shortly assesses the differences in research and field work when working on projects in developing countries. Consolidating the uncovered conditions by the use of an affinity diagram, a structured analysis, in which a target group is selected based on SCOT theory, leads to a conceptualisation phase where physical concepts have been generated by brainstorming. These concepts where rated by Pugh’s method and a single physical concept was chosen for a sketching level detailing by the use of the morphological chart method. An organizational concept was logically deducted from alternatives in the concept generation phase and detailed. The report finally proposes a way to implement the final solution.
Abstract Formålet med projektet er, at generere bæredygtige koncepter af et passende transportmiddel og en tilhørende organisatorisk struktur for beboere i landdistrikter i Sunderbans, Indien. Koncepterne er genereret med hensyn til den sociale, miljømæssige, teknologiske og økonomiske kontekst i Sunderbans, med fokus på at gøre det bæredygtigt. Forholdene i Sunderbans blev undersøgt som indledende research inden afrejse til Sunderbans for at udforske de kontekstuelle forhold. I rapporten vurderer vi kort de forskelle der er ved research og feltarbejde, når man arbejder med projekter i udviklingslande. Informationen fra udforskede forhold blev samlet i et affinitetsdiagram samlet i en struktureret analyse, hvor vi udvalgte målgrupper på baggrund af SCOT-teori. Dette ledte os til en konceptualiseringsfase, hvor fysiske koncepter blev genereret ved brainstorming. Disse koncepter blev vurderet vha. Pughs metode, hvorefter et enkelt fysisk koncept blev udvalgt til detaljering på skitseniveau ved brug af morfologi-metoden. I konceptgenereringen blev et organisatorisk koncept blev på logisk vis udvalgt fra alternativer og detaljeret. Slutteligt kommer vi i rapporten med et bud på, hvordan den endelige løsning skal implementeres.
