Abstract In the last fiftten years markets have changed substanetially. they have become more and more competitive. Mowadays customers demand time, quality, good service and low cost as essential. As a result, inventory management has moved a push system to a pull system, where the customer is placed in the fisrt line. This thesis begins reviewing the most important aspects and process regarding the inventory management. Afterwards it focuses on the latest tendencies of replenishment, where suppliers manage and monitor the inventory. Its focus is addressed by means of a case study about the Continuous Replenishment Program (CRP) integrated in the Efficient Replenishment (ER), one of the strategies of the Efficient Consumer Response (ECR).
