Abstract The content of harmonic currents and tension on an excising roadlightsystem in Jylland is examined. The light system uses LED-light sources. The power consumption and Cosinus Phi is also examined. It is concluded that the harmonic currents generated by the LED fittings do not exceed the requirements from EN 50160. When configuring a network the harmonic currents generated by the LED fittings have to be taken into consideration. Stærkstrømsbekendtgørelsen section 6 does this.
By measuring LED and Metalhalogen fittings, it is concluded that the LED fittings do not affect the network voltage with harmonic currents. There is a great difference in the harmonic currents that are generated. When configuring a network where fittings with a high content of harmonic currents are used, the configuration must be adjusted according to Stærkstrømsbekendtgørelsen section 6.
Finally it is concluded that the costs can be reduced by using LED lightsources. This is however a long-term investment, but a very reliable one.
