Abstract Abstract
This thesis is developed in close collaboration with the global company FLSmidth A/S, in order to provide the multinational corporation with insights of Indonesian cement market and customer needs regarding the spare part, Cast Central Pipe. This knowledge may facilitate the global corporation to gain competitive advantages over Indonesian competitors. Apart from that, the objective of the thesis is to provide FLSmidth with an integrated framework related to making optimal pricing decisions on spare parts in the future. In order to increase the revenue of the organization, research and information regarding customers’ view and the Indonesian market potential of the Cast Central Pipe is required. The thesis may be used as research of the company’s transition from their current price setting mark-up method to the value-based pricing method of spare parts. This research is based on an analysis of marketing principles and statistical sales records, which are integrated with financial and customer data. Additionally, it contains an analysis of the Indonesian customer’s rankings of attributes.
