|Abstract||The purpose of this report is to investigate how Scagro A/S best can counter the challenges faced due to a major increase in production volume.
Through analysis of the production methods at Scagro A/S’s production facilities a bottleneck was found. This discovery can help increasing the production capacity significantly. The production capacity needs increasing since Scagro A/S has experienced a large demand for its products. Through interviews, conversations, observations and measurements the bottleneck was identified as the “Pre-Mix” stage. It was found that removal of the bottleneck should happen through investing in automation equipment, which should be implemented in two stages in order to reduce risk and cost.
An investigation has been made to determine whether it is viable for Scagro A/S to offshore its production facilities to either Poland or Czech Republic or if it is more beneficial to remain at the current locations in Gesten. Through research and analysis of the financial and cultural aspects of relocating and comparing these results with the current costs of operation, it has been determined that due to limited financial gain and high risks it is better to remain in Denmark.
