Abstract The aim of using authenticated encryption as a mode of operation is to achieve faster encryption and message authentication and perform them in a single-pass dislike the traditional way where it encrypts and then MAC (Message Authentication Code).
In this project there has been focused on Authenticated Encryption Stream Cipher (ASC-1) performance comparing with Advanced Encryption standard (AES) followed by different kind of message authentication such as cipher block chaining message authentication code (CBC-MAC). The main feature that makes ASC-1 differs from the standard is that it encrypts and authenticates with one pass, which give a faster result by reducing the procedure.
