|Abstract||The bachelor project is based on the project: DONG – Frederiksborgvej 73, received from the architectural company BIG, Bjarke Ingels Group. The construction includes a new housing to be built in the Northwest of Copenhagen. The building consists of 10,000 m2 housing in 3-5 floors including a supermarket of 1,200 m2, and additional parking basement. The building stands out with its internally lit apartments and a pathway through the construction with apartments spanning across. There has been worked with the concept of Super-Light Structures in the form of SL-Decks.
The group has worked with developing a design solution that makes it possible to maintain the distinctive facade design wanted from the architectural company. This has resulted in the main structural elements are built as a traditional beam-column system. The southern façade appearance is achieved by installing a steel “box" that hangs on the bearing system.
Basic design/project proposal
There has been made an overall design of the building including the main construction, the supermarket, the basement and the parking basement. The overall design is done according to architecture, installations and structural elements. There has been developed fire plans and energy frame calculation by Be10. Moreover, the entire building is drawn in 3D in Autodesk Structure.
There has been made detailed design project of selected parts of the building according to structural components. The main focus has been on a section of the main building.
There has been made a complete detailed design of the pathway with the 17.7 meter long span and the steelboxes attached to the main building. The stability and the robustness is proven.
