Abstract When developing hearing aids at Oticon the properties of the internal wireless transceiver are strictly de-pendent on component placement as it is based on magnetic induction. Numerous tests and verifications are iterated each time a new revision is prototyped in order to secure the required wireless range between two hearing aids. This project has been established in search of finding a quicker testing method without greatly sacrificing accuracy. In the project the magnetic properties of the wireless link between hearing aids are ana-lysed and on that basis a faster test concept is prototyped. The main principle of the solution is determining the receiver sensitivity by measuring increase in packet error rate when manipulating the transmission power. The transmitted power level from the hearing aid is measured with a loop antenna. Based on these measurements an expected wireless performance (range) can be determined. The build system has shown to be several times faster than the current qualitative verification system. The results obtained from the solution yields at most a deviation of 10 %.
