Abstract This project has focus on thepower distribution nework of an FPGA circuit. Sepcifically reagarding decoupling capacitors and merging of power planes. The report discusses the issues of how to effectively decouple high speed circuits and whether the placemnet of decoupling capacitors has any effect on the impedance of thepower distribuiton network. The measuremnts and analysis show that merging of the power planes and placement of capacitors has littel if any effect.
