Abstract Nilfisk Advance has begun a new big project that deals with designing a new eco-friendly street cleaner that is run by electric motors and fuel cells, instead of the polluting and noisy diesel engine.
The purpose of this report is developing a new pick-up system that is energy efficient, since the fuel cells cannot deliver as much kWh as the engine.
Throughout the report there will be several design ideas as well as tests and measurements on the system. This will be with a focus on air velocity, which is delivered to the nozzle and transport tube.
By constructing test models of both nozzle and suction system is was possible to verify that the concepts worked and were very efficient
This is the first phase towards developing a new eco-friendly street sweeper.
