Abstract The scope of this project is to test how well the Battery Management System from Lithium Balance calculates the state of charge of Lithium Ion battery cells.
It is tested how well the compensating models used by the Battery Management System works. These models compensate for the use of different discharge rates and different ambient temperatures, and are used to achieve a more accurate SOC for the batteries under use.
Thorough tests show that, use of the compensating models gives a state of charge (SOC) prediction that is off by 4 % to 11 % points.
